Honors
College Endowment Fund
Established
by alumni and friends during Honors' 25th anniversary in 1985, the
Honors College Endowment Fund provides a permanent source of funding
for experiences that will enrich and change students' lives. This
endowment benefits Honors College students by providing funding
for student research, scholarships for education abroad, funding
for student travel to conferences, guest speakers, special class
materials and attendance at cultural events. Gifts to this fund
create an enduring legacy that provides income year after year,
generating annual income which provides critical funding in perpetuity.
Donors of endowed gifts open doors for students, faculty, and the
community. To give to the Honors College Endowment Fund click

The Washington State
University Honors College is the university's newest college. Formerly
known as the Honors Program, the University Honors College carries on
the tradition of academic excellence providing honors students with a
world class and face-to-face undergraduate experience.
Now, more than ever,
private giving is crucial in building excellence for our students. Your
support will ensure the future of the Honors College and provide the necessary
resources to enhance the richness of our students' learning experience.
Honors College
Development Fund
The Honors College Development Fund was established by
the generous alumni and friends of the Honors College to provide annual
funds for enhancing the learning experiences of our students and providing
our faculty with additional resources to expand and refine the courses
they teach. Gifts to the Development Fund support programs that form the
basis of the Honors College experience for our students. For example,
this fund provides funding for honors students to participate in the Model
UN in New York, to attend the National Collegiate Honors Conference in
Washington DC, and to participate in the Honors Students' Advisory Council.

Bequest
Establishes New
Scholarship Fund
In January a $30,000
bequest from the estate of Honors alumna Kathryn Grant (Pharm. '76)
established the first unrestricted scholarship fund in the Honors College.
In a letter to former Director Dr. Bhatia with her first donation to
Honors in 1976, she wrote: "I always told myself that I would start
giving to Honors when I had a paying job as an alum. As of tomorrow,
I will be getting my first paycheck as an alumnus and my excuses for
not giving are no longer valid!" Through planned giving, she made
a lasting legacy for future students through this scholarship fund.
The need for such
a fund has never been greater. Students graduating from WSU in 2004
who were eligible to receive financial aid graduated with an average
debt of nearly $20,000. This year, students who applied for Honors scholarships
had $434,000 of unmet financial need. Honors had $35,000 to award from
its endowed scholarship funds.
Scholarships provided by private donors are often the only way in which
qualified students can afford a WSU education. Please consider supporting
an Honors student by a scholarship gift, whether it is an annual gift,
an endowment, a charitable trust, or a bequest. To give to the Honors
College Scholarship Fund click
