COURSE DESCRIPTIONS FOR THE UNIVERSITY HONORS COLLEGE SUMMER 2006 COURSE DESCRIPTIONS FOR FALL 2006
A student in any major may follow the Honors curriculum. At the lower division, Honors courses introduce students to the broad domains of scholarly inquiry: English and humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and physical and biological sciences. At the upper division, Honors courses take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of civilization, arts, and sciences. The Honors thesis or project allows students to choose an issue of interest and develop a paper and presentation that tie together the student's own ideas with the scholarly discourse in the field. Here you will find
all the course information you will need for scheduling your next semester's
classes. Just select the semester that you desire in order to find
out all the details about your current or future Honors course! 1.If you have not filled out an information form for Honors, you will not be allowed to register. Stop by the office and fill out your form. We will then be able to release your Honors Advising Hold. 2.If you have not seen your undergraduate academic advisor (assigned by the university, not by Honors), you will not be allowed to register. Make an appointment to see your advisor, and he/she will release your Undergraduate Advising Hold. 3.You
will use the METRO system to register for classes. You will receive an
appointment time from the Registrar—plan to register as close to your
time as possible. If you delay, you may miss out on the chance to take
the class(es) you hoped to get. The Honors faculty and staff will not
be able to help you get into a class that is full.
