Tips for Applying to the WSU Honors College 1. Apply early! You should apply to the Honors College at the same time you apply to WSU. Early applicants will be among the first to be notified if they have been admitted to the Honors College. You must be accepted to WSU before you can be offered admission to the Honors College. 2. When completing your application to Washington State University, either on-line or in print copy, make sure to mark the box on page 1 indicating that you are also applying to the Honors College. There is no need for you to make a second copy. The Honors College will access your application through the Admissions Office. 3. Go to the Honors web page (www.wsu.edu/honors/Application/admission.html) to find the additional forms that you will need to complete your Honors application. 4. All of your Honors College application materials, with the exception of your WSU application form, should be sent to the Honors College in one large envelope. We will not review any applications that are incomplete, nor will we review applications of students who have not completed and submitted their WSU application. The postmark deadline for early notification is December 1, 2005. The priority application postmark deadline in January 31, 2006. No applications will be considered after March 1, 2006. Applications submitted after January 31 will be considered on a “space available” basis. 5. Read the essay prompt carefully. Proofread to eliminate all typos and grammatical errors. We will read for content as well as presentation. This also applies to the reflective narrative included in the “Supplemental Information Form.” 6. Have fun! This is your opportunity to introduce yourself to us. Demonstrate why you are interesting and why you would be an asset to the Honors College. 7. Send your packet directly to the Honors College at the address listed below. If the teacher or faculty member who is completing the reference form for you would rather send his/her comments directly to us, this is also OK.   University Honors College P. O.
