My work is marriage between scientific interest and creative exploration. I am fascinated by the relationship between the visceral, soft elements of nature and the tough, unforgiving, and even dangerous elements of nature. I am intrigued by the beautiful harshness of the natural world. My work involves the combination of forms and textures to create unique life forms and landscapes. I strive in my paintings to transport the viewer into a world where the identity of an object might be a mystery, but the existence of that object is unquestionable.
