In nature, you rarely get to see the inside structure of the shell unless it has been broken or cut open; it is hidden from the viewer and the animal that once inhabited the shell is even less likely to be seen.

Shells in nature are very organic, contain no straight edges... my sculptures have clean, smooth lines, some contain straight edges and some are very machine-like.
