The focus of any art work has been the reorganization of the artistic past from the viewpoint of the image oriented present. I combine art historical images with those from popular culture to produce hybrids that belong neither exclusively to high art nor to advertising, but are indebted to both. This gap between high art and advertising is the wellspring of my experience, and the point from which I draw understanding of the world and communicate back via art.
