Through the collage medium, I explore the concepts of disintegration and fragmentation. The physical eruption of the collage's surface provides an energized format to examine multi- layered ideas past and present, image juxtaposition, layers of text and image, a transforma- tion of memories, materials, and events. I am interested in taking historical events and expressing them visually in contemporary terms. Fragments of the past become the present. The collage medium provides the flexibility and tension to explore the concepts of disruption, disintegration, and fragmentation arranged in a non-linear view of time.
