The Spanish are very conscious of their windmill heritage because of the famous scene in Don Quixote where the protagonist jousts with one under the delusion that it is a giant (hence the old English expression for combating imaginary evils: “tilting at windmills.” Unfortunately, we didn’t see a single traditional windmill equipped with sails, actually working.
